The Daffiama, Bussie, Issa lawmaker, Hon Sebastian Sandaare, donated three brand-new tricycles as special awards at this year's Farmers' Day celebration in Bussie. The event recognized the outstanding achievements of farmers in the district.

The tricycles were awarded to the best Disabled Farmer, best Youth Farmer, and District Best Farmer of the year. Hon Sandaare stated that the awards aim to encourage farmers in the district to invest in agriculture, supporting the government's "Feed Ghana" program.

The district is known for subsistence farming, but government initiatives have promoted large-scale commercial farming, with significant production of maize, sorghum, yam, soybeans, and groundnuts.

The MP's efforts have also led to the district benefiting from the government's Farm Service Center policy, which will provide farm machinery like tractors and combine harvesters to transform agriculture in the district.

This gesture demonstrates the MP's commitment to the Feed Ghana Program and is expected to be a long-term investment, encouraging more farmers, especially youth, women, and people with disabilities.

The District Chief Executive, Hon James Wor, acknowledged the contribution of the MP and other stakeholders in supporting this year's Farmers' Day. Interacting with some of the awardees, they thanked the MP for this singular gesture and expressed their determination to improve their farming practices in the next season.

This year's event was a colourful affair, with participation from the Upper West Regional Minister, Hon Charles Puozuing, Heads of Government Agencies and Departments, Representatives of Political parties, farmers across the region, traditional rulers, Agric Extension Officers, and students.
